Frequently Asked Questions

Sauna & Cold Plunge FAQ

How will my sauna be delivered?

Our Outdoor Barrel Sauna’s usually take around 6-9 weeks to arrive. We will deliver your sauna flat pack and we will assemble it on site. If you would like to receive your sauna pre-assembled then let us know and we can arrange to crane it into place.

what is the sauna made of?

All our saunas are made from Nordic Thermowood, which is high quality, heat treated Spruce. The wood is 40mm thick which ensure the heat is kept in the sauna and it is able to withstand the harsh Scottish weather. All the windows are made from tempered glass, able to withstand both high and low temperatures.

How long does it take to build my sauna?

Our specialist team usually build a sauna in around 10 hours depending on the size. We estimate it would take you around 2 days to build yourself from flat pack depending on your skill level. We recommend you get us to do it since we are experts!

When do I pay for my sauna?

We will send you an invoice for your sauna. We need 50% of payment at the time of order and the remaining 50% must be paid on the day we install your sauna.

Do you offer finance options?

If you are interested in finance please get in touch.

do i need to do anything before my sauna is installed?

First you need to ensure the spot you have chosen the sauna to be built on is solid and level. This can be concrete, decking, patio or slabs. All that matters is the ground is solid and level. If you have chosen an electric heater, you need to ensure you have an electrician who can hook the sauna up after we have completed the installation.

Can I plug my electric sauna heater into my normal outdoor power supply?

No. Your outdoor sauna heater will require an electrician to lay specialist cables capable of dealing with the voltage required to heat the sauna heater.

do i need to treat the outside of my sauna?

To ensure your sauna lasts as long as possible we recommend treating it with an oil stain within the first 2 months of receiving your sauna. This will protect the wood and maintain the beautiful colour.

what maintenance is required?

Our saunas are very easy to keep clean and require minimal maintenance. We offer cleaning products to remove bacteria from inside the sauna room and prevent mould. Simply wash the benches and walls down with the cleaning solutions and rinse with water. The sauna will dry next time you heat it up.

HOW long does will my sauna take to heat up?

This depends on the size of the sauna and what power of heater you choose. As a general estimate electric saunas will take between 15-25 mins to reach optimal temperature and wood burners will take 25-35 mins.

how often do i need to refill my cold plunge pool?

As the cold plunge pool comes with a filter pump you will only need to empty and refill your pool every now and then depending on how often you use it. If you use it 3 times a week we would suggest refilling it everything 3 months. We also recommend using a chlorine float to keep the water free from bacteria.
